If you prefer a video guide, check this short video introduction showing you the 3 solutions on how to charge your old iPhone 6 or iPhone 6S wirelessly and fast.

Below are the text version.

Solution 1. Install a Qi Wireless Charging Receiver to Enable iPhone 6/6S Wireless Charging

The easiest and most affordable solution to add wireless charging to iPhone 6/6S is to get a Qi wireless charging receiver.

This kind of receiver has Qi wireless charging coils inside and looks like a little thin card with a lightning connector which will help offer battery juice to your phone from a Qi wireless charger.

It charges your iPhone 6/6S through the headphone jack without any wires added.

And among all the solutions we've tested, this method is the fastest one for iPhone 6/6S wireless charging.

Here is how it goes:

  • Step 1. Insert the Qi wireless receiver card's connector into iPhone 6/6S charging port.
  • Step 2. Make sure the card is well attached onto the phone's back.
  • Step 3. Place the iPhone 6/6S onto a Qi standard wireless charging pad.

The wireless charger will recognize the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6S immediately and wireless charging will instantly begin.

Tip: To make this charging looks a little more elegant, you can slip a non-metal case onto your phone to cover this little charging receiver card.

Please note that there should not be any more items between the charging receiver card and the charging pad.

The iPhone 6/6S wireless charging receiver card works perfectly with any Qi standard wireless charging pad, charging dock, external power bank and any other portable wireless charger.

The only drawback of this solution is that you have to remove the case and the charging receiver if you need a wired charging.

Best Qi Wireless Charging Receivers for Your iPhone 6/6S

We've tested many wireless charging receivers for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S. Below is a quick list of best wireless charging receivers for your iPhone 6/6S. And if you want the deep dive, read the content below.

  • Yking – Best of the Best
  • Nillkin – Elegant and Low-Profile Option
  • ASAKUKI– Alternative of Yking

Yking – Best of the Best

Yking's Qi standard wireless charging receiver holds 5V/1000mAh so it's fast enough for iPhone 6/6S wireless charging (actually the fastest one in our test).

It works great with Anker 10W wireless charger (which is the best one we've used), and any other wireless charger in the market.

One thing you should know is that any metallic or thick cases will cause the failure of getting through by the wireless charging signal. So you'd better not use any metal protective case on it when charging your iPhone.

The part we don't like most is that once the receiver has been inserted into your phone, it's not that convenient to take it out because the cable is thin and sensitive.

Pros

  • Fastest charging
  • Works perfectly with all Qi wireless chargers
  • Very thin
  • Easy to use

Cons

  • The connector cable is too thin and sensitive
  • Too bare and needs a case to cover for good looking

Nillkin – Elegant and Low-Profile Option

The design of Nillkin's wireless charging receiver patch is really delightful. It's more elegant and at the same time low profile. When used with a case, it does slightly bulge, but you won't even notice it so it's not a problem.

The wireless charging is not slow (about 50% per hour in our test) and it's stable.

One thing to keep in mind is that you should leave a little slack on the cable so you can take off the plug from the device when needed without putting much strain on the connector.

Pros

  • Works perfectly with all Qi wireless chargers
  • Very thin
  • Cool looking design

Cons

  • The connector cable is thin and sensitive
  • The adhesive for the card to attach to the phone becomes weaker if you remove it

ASAKUKI– Alternative of Yking

ASAKUKI looks like Yking, both in gold color, but thinner than Yking. And the better job of ASAKUKI wireless charging receiver is that it's compatible with all iPhone models.

Charging for iPhone 6/6S is also fast and even if you bend it, the charging transmission is stable.

When the iPhone 6 gets fully charged, it will automatically stop charging and you can't even notice a temperature change on the back of the phone for a long time charging. Till now we see no overheat problem.

It's a very good option for your iPhone 6/6S wireless charging in cars.

Pros

  • Works perfectly with all  Qi wireless chargers
  • Very thin
  • Compatible with all iPhone models

Cons

  • A little bit flaky
  • Too bare and needs a case to cover for good looking

Solution 2. Get a Whole Qi Standard Charging Set for iPhone 6/6S Wireless Charging

The whole charging set includes: a wireless charger (also called a wireless charging pad), and a wireless case that has a lightning connector to be inserted into the phone's lighting port.

The Qi wireless charging essence is quite simple:

The wireless case, equipped with a built-in Qi charging receiver for wireless charging capabilities, will help to deliver juice via the lightning port to the phone's battery from the wireless charger.

Here is how it goes:

  • Step 1. Slip the wireless case onto your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6S.
  • Step 2. Connect the iPhone 6 wireless charger (the wireless charging pad) to a power supply.
  • Step 3. Lay the iPhone on the charging pad (without any wires).

And done. The Qi wireless charging for your iPhone 6/6S will automatically start.

There are many wireless Qi charging sets in the market. And below are the best ones we've tested.

ANGELIOX – Best of the Test

What makes the ANGELIOX wireless charging kit for iPhone 6/6S stand out is the price and the high quality.

Simply put, lower price and fast & safe charging ability.

The wireless charging pad is made by high quality Acrylic material and built with a smart IT chip to for quick and safe charging.

The wireless charging case of this set for iPhone 6/6S is the part we love most. It's sturdy and durable. One of our colleagues dropped the phone inadvertently and the phone stayed undamaged, thanks to the case.

But you should not test that with your own phone, seriously.

It's very easy to slip the wireless case on and off, but since the case is very well designed, you may love to keep it that way (just like we do). And you don't have to take the case off when you want the traditional USB wired charging, because there is a built-in charging port on the wireless case.

ANGELIOX also has a multi-protect safety system to ensure the necessary protection of your phone from getting damaged by short-circuiting, over-current, over-voltage, over-heating,and other damage.

Qi wireless charging for iPhone 6S/6 is not as fast as the regular USB cable charging. But it's the best wireless charging for your iPhone 6/6S, and it's more convenient than using a line, and you're sure to love this cordless, free and fashionable way of charging.

Pros

  • Works great right out the box
  • Fast charging
  • Option to cable charge without taking the case off
  • Nice design

Cons

  • Only black color available
  • The charging port on the case is for charging only

Nillkin – Best Option for Travelling or in Cars

Nillkin is the best wireless charging option for iPhone 6/6S in cars.

What makes Nillkin famous for iPhone 6/6S wireless charging is the magic case. It has four built-in magnets and can easily attach to its matching magnetic car mount.

If you need to do wireless charging for iPhone 6 or iPhone 6S in your car or while traveling, Go get Nillkin (see the details).

The wireless smooth case feels good in your hand, scratch-resistant and anti-skid.

And you can put your iPhone 6/6S on any Qi wireless charging pad, if you already have one.

We bought Nillkin's fast wireless charging pad and its magnetic car mount together with the case as a whole set to work. It charges the phone fast (about 30 % per 20 minutes), which is the fastest set in cars we've tested.

The lights of the wireless charging mod are colorful, which is not my taste, but since that can be controlled just by pressing the button, it's not a problem for me.

We've been travelling a lot in the past few months and Nillkin is the only wireless charging kit we took along. Never have to worry about the iPhone's dodgy battery running down.

Pros

  • Works perfectly in cars
  • Very fast wireless charging
  • Nice design
  • No need to take the case off
  • The iPhone 6 wireless charger works great

Cons

  • A bit difficult to pull the plug out
  • The case leaves the iPhone edges exposed

Antye – Best Bed-Side Option

Antye has a series of wireless charging sets for Apple iPhones. For example, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S get their specially-designed set.

And the good thing is that the wireless charging pad is compatible with all other Qi-enabled smartphones.

We've used this wireless charger for months, and till now it fills the bill.

The best thing Antye makes to its iPhone 6/6S wireless charging case is that the lightning connector supports sync and charge in the old USB-cable way, which means you don't need to remove the case even for data syncing.

Unlike most of the iPhone6/6S wireless chargers in the market, Antye adds a sleep-friendly LED indicator so the pad's lights will turn off automatically after 5 to 10 seconds, which makes it a superior bed-side option for wirelessly charging your iPhone 6/6S.

And it offers many color options to choose from.

Pros

  • Very light and easy-to-use
  • Sleep-friendly at night
  • No need to remove the case for cable charging and data syncing
  • Multiple color options

Cons

  • Charging is not as fast as expected

Solution 3. Use a Battery Case for iPhone 6/6S Charging Without Cables & Outlets & Adapters

What if you don't want to carry a wireless charger and the cords, or you just can't find an outlet?

The third solution to wirelessly charge your iPhone 6/6S is to use a battery case – without cables, chargers and outlets.

This kind of battery case is not the same as the wireless cases described above.

A battery case is a case with a built-in battery chip (normally lithium ion battery) which would be charged via an outlet or via a wireless charger and store the juice. When your iPhone needs to be charged, the case would do the work, without outlets, wires, adapters, chargers, pads/mods, or …… you name it.

And sure, it's actually a power backup or power bank, and can be slipped onto your phone for protection and wireless charging when needed.

With this wireless battery case for your iPhone 6/6S wireless charging (see the list below), you don't need to carry any power bank or wires when you're out.

Here is how it goes:

  • Step 1. Slip the wireless battery case onto your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6S.
  • Step 2. When you need to charge the phone wirelessly, press the power button of the case and charging will begin.

Simple, simple and …… simple.

As a battery backup, the case needs to be charged to get full juice before it can supply power to your iPhone. And that's quite easy too. 2 ways to get it charged:

  • 1) Put the case on your phone and use your Apple charging cable to charge both at the same time;
  • 2) Take off the case and use the Apple charging cable to charge the case individually.

You would love this kind of wireless charging for iPhone 6/6S and would wish to buy one earlier, just like we do.

One thing you may note is that the case would not be thinner than the traditional (non-battery) case, since it is equipped with a battery chip.

But that's no problem at all, isn't it?

Extended battery life on the go or thinner phone in your pocket, which one to choose?

We've tested many battery cases for our phones, and here are the top ones.

Of cause you can manually stop charging at any time you like just by pressing the power button on the case.

In our test, it took 34 minutes to get the phone 100% fully charged wirelessly, and that's quite fast.

At the beginning you may feel it's a bit heavy and bulky (your iPhone looks fat), but it's easy to get used to it because the case is well designed and fits the phone perfectly. It looks solid and protective.

The only downfall is that it's a little difficult to take the case on and off. But that would not be a big problem for you because charging via a USB cable or data syncing does not need a removal of the case.

Pros

  • Provides longer battery life
  • Faster wireless charging
  • Pretty design

Cons

  • Not available for Apply CarPlay, car chargers, high voltage or quick charge deployed adapters

HETP – Fits the Bill and Never Stops Working

Specifications:

  • 6000mAh capacity
  • Lithium ion rechargeable battery
  • Input: DC 5V-1.0
